Remedy 58

The Carolina Revue at Second Stage @ SMA will showcase talents of two bands from North Carolina, and 2 bands from South Carolina.

The Brown Mountain Lightning Bugs are a folk/Americana group from Winston-Salem with a passion for bringing original music to audiences in North Carolina and beyond. Kendra and Zack began gig-swapping as solo artists in 2015. They bonded over these shared gigs, common love of dogs, and an enthusiasm for hiking, and decided to tie the knot in the fall of 2015. The Brown Mountain Lightning Bugs officially formed in early 2016, and has been bringing songs of joy, pain, and dogs to audiences ever since.

Strange bird is an acoustic duo formed by PJ and Annie. Both hail from upstate SC, and work together to perform original music, as well as covers from the genres of rock, folk, country, and alternative.

Vagabond Crowe is an alternative americana folk band from Western North Carolina. The band is comprised of Mitch Stewart, Paula Woods and Brent Fleury. Vagabond Crowe came out blazing with fresh originals that suite their folky and soulful sound.

Remedy 58 was started in January of 2018 by life-long friends, Joel Green and Tipton Jones-Boiter, along with Kirayah Spell, under the original name DysFUNKshun. Since then, they’ve played in over 30 venues in the tri-state area. After Kirayah left the band in May of this year, they decided to change their name and branding to better fit their soulful, bluesy sound. They have a full album of original music currently in the works, to be released on CD and all media streaming platforms very soon.
